Hexham/Tynedale areas Suspicious Vehicle - Bellingham A Grey DAF Flatbed truck (13 plate) was seen at 1020hrs on Tuesday 27th May, entering the Bellingham from the Pennine Way (A68). The vehicle has possible links to rural crime.
Incident Number: NP-20250520-1397 Theft of ATV’s – Otterburn Report at 2320hrs on Tuesday 20th May of thefts of 2 x Honda quads. See the below update from Operation Checkpoint.
Incident Number: NP-20250520-0154 Theft of Vehicle – Otterburn Occurred between 2000 on MON 19/05/25 and 0650 on TUE 20/05/25 A Black Toyota Hilux (25 Plate) was stolen from the front of the property – believed to have travelled into Durham area. Enquiries ongoing.
North Northumberland Incident Number: NP-20250528-0033 Suspicious Vehicle - Scottish Borders Suspect vehicle reported via Police Scotland, a VW Crafter (64 Plate) White, heading south into Northumbria area (possibly A68/A697) in early hours on Wed 28th May. Potentially scoping for rural crime/theft.
Incident Number: NP-20250526-0296 Theft of ATV - Lowick, Berwick Occurred between 2300 on SUN 25/05/25 and 0931 on MON 26/05/25 Theft of red Honda 520 quad and a Silver Isuzu Pickup (74 Plate) stolen overnight. The stolen Isuzu has travelled via Rothbury approx. 0340hrs and possibly onto A68 (see below).
Possible Linked incident: NP-20250526-0850 Theft of number plates Colwell (off A68) Occurred 0000 on FRI 23/05/25 and 1800 on MON 26/05/25 Theft of number plates from a Silver Nissan Navara Pickup parked up on the farm Enquiries into the above incidents are ongoing.
Incident Number: NP-20250517-0273 Theft of ATV – Cambo (nr Wallington Hall). Between 1200 on FRI 16/05/25 and 1730 on FRI 16/05/25 Report of theft of Honda 420 quad, occurred between the above timeframe. The ATV remains outstanding, enquiries are ongoing by the Rural Crime Team.
Op Checkpoint - Tuesday 20th May Rural Neighbourhood Officers, Rural Crime Team and Special Constables were supported by 16 Rural Crime Volunteers and members of Environment Agency Fisheries Enforcement to patrol jointly across rural areas. During the rural operation, over 35 vehicles were stopped and checked. Also during the operation a report was received of theft of two quads, from the Otterburn area (NP-20250520-1397), Officers who were involved in the operation responded to the incident, ensuring the two stolen quads were recovered, having been abandoned nearby to the theft location. A Ford Focus was identified as involved the incident and was later seized when found abandoned in Durham area. Lastly, two males were also reported fishing offences. | ||
